Top Indoor Activities in North Shields for Families

When the weather turns grey across Tyne and Wear, families in North Shields start looking for indoor activities that keep everyone entertained. The Royal Quays area has become a go-to destination for family fun, and at the heart of it sits The Cue & Darts Lounge — a relaxed, welcoming venue where all ages can enjoy pool, snooker, darts, and a proper bite to eat.

Family Fun on the Tables

Whether your kids are picking up a cue for the first time or you've got a competitive teen who fancies a challenge, our tables are perfect for family play. Pool is a brilliant introduction to cue sports — easy to learn, quick to play, and endlessly fun. Snooker offers a slower, more skilful challenge for older children and adults, while our darts boards bring a bit of friendly rivalry to the mix.

We welcome families throughout the day, and our team is always happy to help newcomers get started. No experience needed — just turn up and have a go.

Food and Drink for All the Family

A family day out isn't complete without good food. Our kitchen serves up a range of family-friendly favourites — from loaded burgers and hot dogs to sharing platters, nachos, and proper kids' options. Grown-ups can enjoy a coffee, a soft drink, or something from our bar, while the little ones tuck into their favourites.

We've made sure our menu has something for everyone, so you can settle in for a session on the tables without worrying about where to eat afterwards.
